Sec. 14-82. – Parking prohibitions.
(a) No automobiles for over twenty-four (24) hours, and no school buses, vehicles over six (6) wheels, commercial vehicles, trailers, and other nonmotorized vehicle accessories for any length of time are allowed to be parked on the roadway pavement that is twenty-five (25) feet in width or smaller, or within the roadway rights-of-way of roadways fifty (50) feet in width or smaller, and/or all roadways that are contained within residential subdivisions. Local deliveries are exempted from this requirement, as long as the delivery vehicle does not remain overnight.
(b) No vehicles over six (6) wheels are allowed to be parked within any park-and-ride lot maintained by the county.
(Ord. of 12-16-97) Sec. 14-83. – Penalties. – Violators of this article are subject to a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) and not more than that prescribed in section 1-8 and/or sentenced to perform not more than forty (40) hours of community service. The guilty party shall pay all court costs as determined by the court. Each day’s continuance of a violation shall be considered a separate offense. (Ord. of 12-16-97)
Sec. 5-42. – Confinement of animals generally, etc.
(a) An owner of a domesticated animal, whether vaccinated or not vaccinated, shall confine such domesticated animal within an adequate fence or enclosure or within a house, garage or other building to prevent the animal from running at large. No animal shall be tied or tethered as a permanent measure of restraint. No animal shall be left unattended on a chain, lead, runner, cable, rope, leash or similar tethering device.
(b) An owner of a dog or cat, whether vaccinated or not vaccinated, shall prevent such dog or cat from becoming a danger to persons or property at any location, or trespassing upon another persons’ property without that person’s permission.
(c) An owner of a dog or cat, whether vaccinated or not vaccinated, shall prevent such dog or cat from running at large upon the streets, sidewalks, alleys, parks or other public places in the county.
Sec. 11-76. – Motor vehicles.
(a) Maximum sound levels. No person shall operate a motor vehicle or motorcycle at any time on a public or private road in such a manner as to exceed the sound level limits for the category of motor vehicle shown in Table 2. The sound level shall be measured at a distance of at least fifty (50) feet from the centerline of the path of the vehicle being monitored and at a height of at least four (4) feet above the immediately surrounding surface. This section shall apply to the total noise from a vehicle.
(b) Adequate mufflers or sound-dissipative devices.
(1) No person shall operate or cause to be operated any motor vehicle or motorcycle on a public or private road which is not equipped with a muffler in proper working order and in constant operation.
(2) No person shall remove or render inoperative or cause to be removed or rendered inoperative any muffler or sound-dissipative device on a motor vehicle or motorcycle other than for purposes of maintenance, repair or replacement.
(3) The provisions of the subsections of this section apply to moving motor vehicles. Those motor vehicles operating in a stationary position or condition are governed by the provisions of section 11-73 and the levels specified in Table 1.
Sec. 11-75. – Specific prohibitions.
(5) Garbage collection shall not take place in any subdivision which has been approved by the county board of commissioners and duly recorded in the office of the county clerk of superior except between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
